About Bert Yancey 1938-1994
Albert Winsborough Yancey, "Bert," was a long-time professional golfer on both the PGA and the Senior PGA Tours. He also suffered from bipolar disorder (manic-depressive illness), yet he still managed a very successful career in professional golf. He posted seven tour victories and competed in eight Master's Tournaments, finishing third on two occasions and in the top 15 five times.
Through golf, Bert worked to increase the public's awareness of, and to reduce the stigma associated with, mental illness. Our heartfelt thanks to the Yancey Family for allowing us to use Bert's name for this golfing event.
